For all the bullshit "how do I explain it to my children" lines about trans people the last few years, I've actually had to have real conversations with my now 15-and 16-yo daughters about how older men showing them attention doesn't make them cool, it just makes the men weird and creepy.

One thing I've noticed over the last few decades in Houston is so that crowds at small and midsized venues have gotten so much better than they used to be. Bands used to hate playing here and would often skip and head straight for Austin where the crowd energy would be so much better.

This was a man. Grew up in the depression in dustbowl Oklahoma. WWII vet. Carpenter. Union man. Lifelong democrat. Rebuilt cars as a side gig. Built his own furniture. Would let his grandkids run all over him. When he died, the first baptist church of Plano was so packed people were standing
