The thing with the redwood in question is in Oakland you need a permit to cut down any tree bigger than some size and despite being a young tree it’s definitely over it. (The root system is *going* to grow into the plumbing but hasn’t yet so they can’t remove it without $$$ permits)

If that was a redwood planted in the 50s it would be one of the biggest trees you’ve ever seen in your life by now.

Family’s place has a redwood (semi invasive) that’s under ten years old and already bigger than that.
