My last book of Jan was Enlighten Me by Minh Lê and Chan Chau. Enjoyed this quick middle grade graphic novel (I'm in my children's GN era). Bình gets in trouble when he stands up to a racist bully, and soon after his family goes on a silent Buddhist retreat. I appreciated that the focus was (1/2)

Finished Curveball by Pablo Cartaya and Miguel Díaz Rivas last night. Really enjoyed the character designs of the kids and the art was engaging and (as an adult) cute. An accident causes Elena to sit out from baseball for a while and she has to figure out who she is without the game and competition.

Finished my last audiobook of the year last night. Abortions: Our Bodies, Their Lies, and the Truths by Jessica Valenti is powerful. All of it is necessary, but as I was listening, it was the sections about the effects that restrictions on reproductive rights have on children that broke me.

Metal From Heaven is definitely one of my top reads of all time. Very queer, all about class and revolution. Just stunningly written as well. will be thinking about this one for a while
