I'm seeing a lot of people have these idea about the secret reason this shutdown has lasted this long.

But like,

it really is just basic anger and incompetence. These people are not as smart as you want them to be. There's no strategy, there never was.

One big lesson from Mamdani's victory:
Don't be afraid of billionaires. Make billionaires afraid of you. Take them on, don't back down.

Billionaires from Musk on down used all their tricks and failed.

Democrats are trained to lust after billionaire money, but courage has tremendous value.

It's strange how likely true this is, since, he's literally just a mayor!

Not a senator, not a representative, a freaking mayor!

But GOP and MSM were so openly scared of him. He became household despite how little the title would usually be.

It's a surprising little shock I really welcome.
Mamdani is going to be the beacon we've been looking for to help lead us out of this MAGA fascist nightmare. His decisions & his examples are going to set the tone and the path by which all elected officials will be expected to follow. @housedemocrats.bsky.social @democrats.senate.gov #NoKings

I've been scrolling today, it's been a while, you know?

And it hasn't come up much, but I have seen people claim that this Tuesday only went well because "Well the GOP didn't care about this one!" Or "they haven't replaced the voting machines yet!"

Bro, stop fucking lying down.

My state has been purple, with very deep red pockets, roughly since I was born.

This Tuesday, only two questions were on the board. One was voter suppression, the other was common sense gun control.

I expected close margins for both, it was hard to assume what way things would turn out.

I resent rich people who take away the funds for food stamps to buy another yacht.

While I wasn't in the calls and therefore do not know the exacts, I still remember how over a year ago, Nick was deep in investigation against the exact kind of grifters responsible for the shitstorm we've ended up in. To the point co-workers worried.

But I am glad that he didn't give up digging.
It was always about the "right" politics in video games, and the silence of video game companies is defeaning.

An extra episode of Unpacked is available now from @nickjcal.bsky.social.

An interview is also supposed to be through. I've never had an interview where they just skipped a question because my answer was too long or whatever BS 60 Minutes pulled.

MSM can't even do interviews anymore, that's the only hard truth in this. It's incompetence. Bias and then incompetence
She even said at one point (paraphrased) “We’ll move on because I want to get to all of these questions.”

Really wish our nation’s highest-paid journalists would stop doing that. I understand this is an interview, not a debate, but still, the news is no longer “the president said things about X.”

"The ‘60 Minutes’ interview with Trump showcased everything that is wrong with US political interviews in general. The deferential tone. The lack of preparation. The failure to ask follow-up questions or dig deep into answers. The inability (unwillingness?) to fact-check in real time."

The Halo ICE meme is a litmus test for those that understand what government propaganda is and isn't.

Companies putting on politically adjacent events, and cosmetics in their games for things they actively support and believe in is not the same as the DHS using Halo as a "meme".

I knew that I'd click with Digimon Story Time Stranger, as I really liked Cyber Sleuth and adored Hacker's Memory.

I underestimated.

Time Stranger is likely the best game I've played from this console generation.

It’s baffling to me people still don’t understand that dems don’t go on MSM because they just plain aren’t allowed on.

MSM hates liberals, neoliberals, fuck even center-left is a no no for them.

It’s far right or “former democrat”. They call themselves unbaised purely because they aren’t.
A MAGA nutjob owns CNN and CBS and is getting control of TikTok. Twitter and Facebook are controlled by wingnuts, as are the WaPo and LAT and a majority of local tv and radio stations. And yet this reality rarely comes up in discussions of the Dems’ messaging problems or lack of popularity.

The disability community needs support & solidarity to fight these pharmaceutical tariffs.

Most of us can barely afford our medications as is.

We can’t suddenly stop taking them, we will die.

We can’t stockpile them.

A 100% tariff will cost lives.

I’ve read thr joke, and it’s “bad”, as in cringey and memey in a way that feels unrelated to its own topic.

Not really a fireable offense. Forced suspension from posting, sure, but not lose your job over.

Calling attention to it feels like an even worse decision

Hillary’s e-mails were too.

MSM quite openly support him and it’s been that way sunce 2015.

If you'd told me a year ago that nighttime talk shows were still incredibly popular, I'd have burst out laughing.

Yet somehow two getting fired is immediately realized as terrible decisions, both business-wise and constitutionally.

I mean. Hey whatever wakes people up?

While I'm in the mood, I thought I'd say something that's been pestering me for years and that is especially insane this morning.

Stop with the whole "this is a planned distraction!" nonsense. It's nonsense.

Distract from the story the MSM wasn't covering anyway? You sound like Infowars bro.
