The absolutely ludicrous offer on an old man's real estate is "20% above market" by the greedy corporate interest.

Seems funny that was an exaggeration back then, compared to what prices have actually done since.

Gotta love the days were you don't do any project work and spend the whole day in your inbox and messaging.

And not like, Discord. Not the fun kind of messaging.

'Tis the season to be surprised by clients' new business activities, multi-state subjectivity, and income swings.

I keep having dreams I take on jobs as a helping hand for farms, grooming, etc.

And then that reminds me I used to have a different job doing similar work, that I apparently stopped showing up and forgot about!

Which makes me feel guilty I can't remember the previous job. C'mon brain...

Finally finished Gideon the Ninth and I have mixed feelings.

The ending was captivating enough I'm curious where the story goes. But the whole of the book wasn't enough to get me committed.

Does anyone else get a micro-dose of guilt when you get up to do something, and your dog (particularly if they're elderly), gets up to follow, and you think "No, no! I'm coming right back! Rest your little head!"

Congratulations on going to bed an hour early because you were tired!

Your reward is... a headache!

Employer's don't have to provide any supplemental OT or tip reporting for 2025. This is going to make claiming the OT deduction interesting. Best we may have to go on in some cases will be their final pay stub.

Well this almost ended in disaster. Thankfully they make extensions!

Old one was corroded on one side and a b*tch to get out.

Ok I know there's only been one group so far but... bedazzled scream masks?!

They win.

I am typically not a fan of horror or thriller movies. I don't want to sit down on my couch and be stressed out or give an anxiety.

But I watched A House of Dynamite, which was tagged as a thriller, and liked it.

It was suspenseful, but to me it was watching ops unfold with emotional impact.

Part cat. Climbed on the back of the couch to get in my face.

"Was the video quality this good back then?" asked the 15yo, while watching ST:VOY. Oh child...

He was also amazed at how good the camera was on a 00's-era flip phone a friend gave him.

Ran numbers on deliveries and Loom views for this year:

71.8% watched their Loom video (up 2.5% from PY).

10.1% scheduled wrap-up meetings (3.2% from PY, but there were a couple of big projects for a new client that account for 1.8% of the increase).

Plot idea I came up with at Orycon, documenting for future royalties:

Fungi as a solution to space travel is complicated, because any sufficiently large volume requires an even larger volume of food source.

Conveniently, some fungi will eat human organic matter!

A recent court decision in Utah suggests that businesses are willing to file lawsuits against Employee Retention Credit (ERC) advisors for potentially problematic advice, but the result also illustrates that a win isn’t guaranteed.

Today is the extended filing deadline for individual returns.

I'm a firm believer that "tax season" ends on April 15.

Extension season should have a lot more management of workloads, client expectations, and client accountability.
