One of the many lessons from Brody's subplot is how much director Anson "Potsie" Williams loves a close two-shot.

We were unavailable to record this week, which means we cracked open the outtakes bank once more. It's about 20 minutes of fun stuff that just didn't fit the last few months of episodes: rss.com/podcasts/wsk...

It's just too big. I'm sorry but it's too big. This fight would be so much better if the beating sticks were scaled down about 25%

This months Henson Company 70th Anniversary auction has only one lot from Aliens in the Family, the sitcom starring John Bedford Lloyd, better known around here as The Regulator. It's pretty adorable www.juliensauctions.com/en/items/207...

This was Emotional Support Cockroach’s first credited role. It would later film a gig in the same studio, getting dumped on someone’s hair in Fear Factor.
Finally, with the addition of Emotional Support Cockroach, the regular cast of seaQuest 2032 is complete.

It's Roy Scheider's birthday! Were he alive, he would have turned 93 today. Here's a lovely interview he did for the Starring... the Actors series in the mid-80s. I find the part at the end on the purpose of the actor very revealing www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OYJGb0p2nk

Today is the day! As a saltwater show we will defer commemoration to the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum in Whitefish Point, where Alaina made a blood sacrifice last summer.

Roy Scheider hosted Saturday Night Live in January 1985. It's a well-regarded episode but the only easy to share clip is the monologue. Please enjoy Roy telling two jokes, and the crowd not realizing he delivered the punchline until he moves on: www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGrD...

The Captain saves the day by being the one to get through to someone. Our heroes just make it back before the base is destroyed. Massively tonally different stories with different stakes but it rhymed in my head.

One thing I was struck by listening to Chains of Command. There are shades of the season 1 episode Brothers And Sisters. A long forgotten base down by a trench. The surviving crew have lost their minds. There's a ticking clock. Someone disobeys the chain of command.

Season 3 is good! I understand fans being turned of by a new show wearing their old show's clothes, but on its own merits it is good. And it's like jumping 15 years ahead in television trends in structure and theme overnight.
@wskrs.bsky.social Finally caught up and wow I forgot just how many great episodes there are in season 3. Like I don't quite like the darker tone but I like that they finally have a bad guy that isn't gone by the end of the episode, I like the serialisation.

Here's Michael Ironside talking Top Gun 2 shortly after the film was announced. It has the 3 hallmarks of his interviews: an anecdote about falling out with someone, digging for something meatier than the material has, and dismissing a frivolous question youtu.be/mVRG56oVFHY
