Reuters The Wall Street Journal reported that Verizon plans to cut about 15,000 jobs over the next week. Sources told the publication that Verizon is attempting to reduce costs as it faces more competition for wireless service and home internet customers. At the reported scope, this would be the largest reduction in history for the telecom company.

I thought I was fairly well informed, but this second nugget regarding immunity had escaped my attention.
Epstein's 2008 deal allowed the New York financier to escape federal sex trafficking charges they could have put him in prison for life. *It also gave immunity to others involved in his crimes, many of whom have never been identified*. [emphasis mine]

In all the other Cases before mentioned, the supreme Court shall have appellate Jurisdiction, both as to Law and Fact, with such Exceptions, and under such Regulations as the Congress shall make.

I don't know how often I've read something similar to 'Oh, to have the confidence of a straight white man', but there is little to compare to the confidence of a Brooklyn white woman who is going to instruct us, owners of multiple Sunbelt homes, in how to live in one.
I love being home. My career has been built on helping people cook great food, organize their homes, and fill every nook and cranny with things they love (more on my background below). Yet I’ve never really had a chance to create that ideal space myself. My husband and I spent our entire married life together, more than 20 years, in a Brooklyn apartment. Facing empty nestdom as our children headed off to college, we decided to branch out and find a place in a warmer climate—for part of the year now, and maybe for more of it in the future. Homeward is about finding that first house and constructing our next phase of life. It’s a space for everyone who wants to live a life of meaning, beauty, and comfort. I’m excited to share my insights, design sensibility, home and cooking ideas, and resources of all kinds. That will include practical advice, such as how to lay out a pantry and what to look for in outdoor dining chairs—and also some impractical advice, like where to get a spiked anti-coyote suit for a 12-pound dog. I’ll unearth excellent design finds each week and seek out opinions from both pros in the field and from people like you! I’ll do it all while grappling with bittersweet existential topics, like: Will this be the last home I inhabit? What does your childhood home say about how you live now?

Detailing the only option that his colleagues have in hospitals to fight the severe malnutrition in children, Al-Farra said that Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), or Doctors Without Borders, has managed to provide small amounts of emergency baby formula, known as F-75 and F-100, to treat acute malnutrition in babies. The doctor, however, said children's conditions often deteriorate again after being discharged from the hospital. "We give the children a bit of formula -- F-75, F-100 -- from MSF, just in the hospital," he explained. "They get a little better, and then we have to send them home, because we need the bed for the next child. But outside, there's no food, no milk, no protein. They come back a week later, worse than before."

William Marks, an alumnus of the academy and a retired Navy commander, set up a GoFundMe campaign to purchase books from the banned list and provide them to academy midshipmen. In a statement, Nicole Biever, the commission’s chief of staff, said her organization was aware of reporting about the books being removed from the academy’s library but was not reconsidering the school’s accreditation as a result. The commission sent a letter to colleges and universities on Feb. 14, Ms. Biever noted, that offered help in maintaining their credentials while also “ensuring compliance with all applicable legal or government requirements,” such as executive orders from the White House.
