In 1965, WRJ was the first Jewish organization to call for the decriminalization of homosexuality. Moreover, in 1997, WRJ passed a resolution calling for members to advocate for legislation that would legalize same-sex marriage. We will continue to fight for equal rights for the LGBTQ+ community.

At WRJ, we know the importance of fair elections and a true representative democracy. In 1944, WRJ passed a resolution calling for an end to the poll tax and continues to call for racial equity and civil rights in our work today.
