Have a plan for problematic members. I speak from experience! It was also helpful having writers say what type of feedback they were looking for (like developmental vs line edits)

I think that we were a diverse group of writers that wrote in different genres helped a lot for fresh perspectives. Like, it's good to get beta readers in your genre, but the critique group having different outlooks really stretched the writing.
