Lungs that had previously stilled and collapsed, fought to reject the sensation of being refilled. She gagged, stale air fused with dries copper syrup clung to her throat, her tongue. Limbs spasmed, hyper extending tendons that had turned to stone. With a stiff, terrified heave she threw her body over in an attempt to retch; lips fused with dried blood ripping apart. She would do anything to stop the pain and the screaming ringing in her ears. With horror she realized it was she who screamed.
