I write fantasy fiction and the only nonfiction I've written was essays back in college so my comparison might not be the best but, for me, in nonfiction you're writing mostly facts or opinions based on the real world. In fiction you are making a person who doesn't exist come to life and more.

See, this scares me. I'm a millennial and an aspiring author. I'm writing while working an entire other full-time job and I'm an introvert. It worries me that when I finally try to publish, I'm going to be rejected simply because I have zero following. 😮‍💨

Someone had probably already said this but Libby and Hoopla are digital lending services offered by most public libraries! If you prefer eAudiobooks or eBooks, they are a great free service! There are so many ways to access books for free through your local libraries!

I'm a librarian so this advice doesn't work for me... I love my job but hate that I can't go to the library to escape anymore! I still have bookstores though! 🤣
