I read this as, they are providing the political cover for the non-retiring Dems to vote “no” and “keep their hands clean,” all with the approval of (if not at the direction of) Dem leadership. It’s purely political theater at its grossest.

Number 2, 100%. They’re providing the cover. Probably in collusion with Schumer, who has no spine for fighting, all while he pretends to be against it.

Re: Low-info voters: Strong disagree. Republicans excel at messaging. Democrats really, really suck at it. R’s will bombard the airwaves saying D’s are to blame, and low-info voters will absorb that message and then parrot it, just like they always do.

Absolute bullshit. If you were just going to cave on the ONE demand our side had, then what was the point of all the misery and suffering from the last 40 days?! I will absolutely vote for whatever person with a spine decides to primary you.
