One of our cats is using all four paws to knead my leg. It sort of feels like he’s going to leave little toe bean shaped bruises on me with the force he’s using (plus he’s a fairly large 14lb boy). Lots of purring and a little drooling.

We had hot pot for dinner and I tried lotus root for the first time! Got some frozen sliced ones. Such a nice texture. Reminds me of sunchokes although I don’t think they’re closely related. Hmm.

I actually felt the earthquake this morning even though it was almost 100 miles away (which seems to be about as far away as it was felt). But by the time I realized it was an earthquake and got up to go stand in a doorway it was over. Gotta work on my response time 😬
