Problem: Under capitalism, some workers' livelihoods depend on profiting from their creative output.

Correct response: Therefore, we need to ensure people don't need to work to get their basic needs met.

Incorrect response: Therefore, we need to pressure the state to enforce a dystopian IP regime.

I encourage Paris to speak to the many civil liberties and privacy groups about this. This is extremely misinformed. Google and YouTube have both rolled out AI age verification proactively bc it allows for greater surveillance of users. It’s a boon to their business zeteo.com/p/the-latest...

The question we should be asking about AI isn't about whether we should automate as many jobs as possible (we should), but about who owns the AI. Is it owned by corporations and neolibs, or is it owned by the open source community?

The Luddites were not correct. Workers experience a far better standard of living now than then in large part due to efficiency gains of technology enabling a much greater production of goods.

It's the career field equivalent of NIMBYism.

Why should people need to pay for homes? 🤔
How would they buy their homes? Who would lend the money to pay for them? Who would supply the down payments?

When the US ruling class says that something poses a threat to the "American way of life", what they actually mean is it poses a threat to the interests of US capital accumulation.
