This post from @funkystudios.bsky.social bsky.app/profile/funk... made me think of the Beavis and Butthead CD pack we got years ago (games and enough .wavs to make you vomit your own lungs) so I went to find the bundle and this was the search suggestions! What is happening?!?

Looking at BC Labour laws for reasons and how is this supposed to work? Like, how can you be required to work through (or be available to work during) your break and still have the mandated break?

Say, hypothetically, you work retail and your manager ‘forgot’ to schedule anyone else to cover?

Something else awful was published, I guess, and I don’t feel the need to find out what.
I was a little surprised that Lizzo was on Substack, but maybe she started it before she realized it was supporting Nazis and stuff.

Anyway my cat is cute

The book scared me so much that I read it all night because I didn’t want to turn the light off.

I recorded this (VHS ftw) when it screened in the UK and watched it many times. David Soul and James Mason and the cast were fantastic and the effects were creepily effective.

Thanks to Libby I’ve read over 100 audiobooks this year- for free!
Join your local library and a whole new world opens up. If you’ve struggled with reading text recently, try audiobooks. Or use Libby to borrow the digital copy to read on your device.

Because every writer needs confirmation that their writing process is no more or less chaotic and terror-prone than other people’s :)

Repost with alt text (remember you can copy/paste text easily and the character limit for alt text is 3000!)

Make your posts accessible to people who use screen-readers by always using alt text for images.

The only context I have for this is thanks to N. K. Jemisin’s ‘Great Cities’ series which makes it so much funnier.

We are travelling back in time tonight!

So excited to revisit this classic - I wonder if the ape screams are still as haunting…?

Well this is a thing, but not necessarily a good thing.

Now I’ve been reminded that Clearsky exists I couldn’t resist a quick peek and this is genuinely funny to me because I generally just repost and like stuff.

I watched an orb weaver spider shaking the last raindrops from the middle of her web this morning. By the time I had gone out to try to video her she had gone back to hiding, so here’s a bad photo of the web instead. 1/

It’s a bit hazy and smells faintly of woodsmoke. There are no weather alerts from Environment Canada. The Weather Network reassures us it fine - go out and take big, deep breaths! (Image 1)

The IQAir site tells a different story (img. 2) with different recommendations (img. 3)

Audiobooks are helping me catch up with some of the (so, so many) authors and books I’ve meant to read.

Currently reading First is Ursula K. Le Guin ‘The Farthest Shore’ (third in the Earthsea series) and Richard Wagamese ‘One Story, One Voice’.

Thrilled that a book I tagged in Libby by
@charliejane.bsky.social is going to be available in my library soon! I can’t wait to read ‘Lessons in Magic and Disaster’. Thank you, FVRL and Libby :)

It’s Canada Day.

The world is being remade by the worst people hellbent on grinding humanity and our planet to dust.

There is still love in the world, and, therefore, hope.

Find, build, grow.

Beautiful positioning of @edroso.bsky.social’s post above @alexwinter.com -
it is weird that some people don’t seem to understand that not everyone wants more strife in their life. We just want to share and learn and help and have fun.
