Thanks, it feels divine! I’ve always had a spiritual connection to trees, & I’m delighted by sunlight through the leaves. I’m always trying to capture that photographically but with only marginal success. I’m so lucky to have stewardship of this land with hundreds of them.

While looking for dangerous ash trees & documenting the drought, I was thrilled to find a cluster of basswoods. Their canopy is so high that the beech seedlings hid the leaves.

From my Halloween evening walk. Nice for the clouds to break enough to see the moon.

Marc, reading her language carefully reveals that she’s planning to help him execute it, not that she thinks he “may.” This deserves wide exposure!

Excellent article! Excerpt shows the effect of #StochasticTerrorism! Using trigged violence to create the appearance of a lawless & dangerous society to make the case for autocratic rule.

I went out to see the moon and the bat was out! Didn’t get it in the picture, tho. I think it lives close by, as I see it in the same place at the same time quite often.

The excerpt, from the ABC article, is patently false! The Katie Johnson accusation is well known.

…crappy pictures, but I got a decent video. It’s a Say’s mantidfly on the paper shade, next to the old molding.

And this, from Flynn’s book. Short walk from where we are.

I had them in my rhododendrons & love them, too. This one is huge. And was very patient with me following her around with my phone. The fur on her abdomen is actually shiny!

Until I lived here I never knew tree frogs ate moths. The big (2”+) ones only go for big moths. I’ve struggled to get pictures of it. This one took 1/2 hr to swallow the moth.

Truly! That one was just over an inch long. It just made me laugh that it was looking in the window. This is the view we usually get.

This one used the hummingbird feeder to be a window peeker!

Love tree frogs! They’ve become the dominant non-bird voice in our woods. This is a tree frog with some late spring peepers in the iris pond. Hard to believe they can be so loud. 🐸

Happy Mother’s Day to my dear friends! 🥰🫂💐
I tried to do this several times today and crashed BS every time trying to add a gif. So you get a trillium from my woods!

Thanks. They’re common & year round residents here in MI. They often hunt during the day & are surprisingly tolerant of humans. My 16 acres have been barred owl territory for at least the last 20 yrs. This one stayed close to the house last year, even sunbathing under the bird feeder.

You betcha! It grows naturally in the field in front of my house. Every year we curate the seed heads because if the stalks fall before they open, the seed heads rot in the fall rains. This year, I might plant some more.

We’re having a different kind of event tonight. Stuck home recovering from Covid. At least it’s pretty!
