Did some sewing, matched some plaid very neatly.

An afternoon well spent in the sewing room.

I can't post the research methods lecture I wrote, even though I'm pleased with that, so here's a chocolate olive oil cake I made to combat SAD. It's very tasty and is cheering me up.

I wanted cosy autumnal food so I used what I had in the house and made a savoury cheesy bread pudding with leeks and mushrooms. It's a lot nicer than it looks, or sounds.

I made North of Ireland-style home made soup and wheaten bread; delicious and cosy and nurturing food for a chilly autumn weekend.

Literally no-one asked for this. (I have now disabled the AI settings, but it should never have been opt out!)

It's Halloween, and my roses are still in bloom. It's lovely but it also feels wrong; a beautiful portent of doom.

What cruel mockery is this? I feel like Sisyphus and Tantalus in one.

This is my very first harvest! Just one frame, as I only got my own bees fairly recently, but I built the frame and my bees drew it out and filled it, and it is delicious; citrussy and floral. I am delighted!

Made a tart for dinner. It's tasty.

I went to the archeology museum in Dublin today. I like the Celtic gold there, but the info claims that these "dress fasteners" could have been worn in a septum piercing, which I'm pretty sure is impossible.

I'm in Glencolmcille in Donegal, doing an Irish course.

I'm making a jumpsuit out of the red linen shown here, trying to choose between the other two to line the bodice and pockets. The lining shouldn't show, but still...
June 22, 2025 at 10:56 AM
Everywhere is hot but my sewing room is slightly cooler, so I've spent the afternoon making the toile for a jumpsuit. The final version will be red linen.
Making things makes me happy.

I love my fennel plant. I cut it back to about three feet in the spring and now it's enormous!
June 19, 2025 at 6:51 PM
What fresh hell is this?
June 2, 2025 at 7:36 AM
Actual copies of my actual book!
May 23, 2025 at 12:57 PM
Not to be all that meme, but I have a book out today.

Spinach is ridiculous, look at this, how is this not illegal?

Well, and also, Siri, show me where the Italian-Turkish border wall is?
January 2, 2025 at 1:11 PM
Not entirely sure how to interpret this, but OK.

And it has a tassel, which had fallen off but I can reattach it.
