Keep watching the skies

Very amateur astronomer and astrophotographer. Like nature, the environment and railways (particularly steam). Also enjoy reading and early Sci-Fi
Sigh! The carpet monster strikes again! Returning to my build of the "Shamrock Spitfire" from Eduard I get part P40 in place ok but P41 has other ideas. Get the second P41 almost in place when PING! it flies out the tweezers! #scalemodels #histscalemodels

Earlier in the scene the "terminal" appears to be able to display 80x24 (ish) but the "really important message viewers must see" 😉 is something like 19x9, though the spacing between lines is a bit suspect.

Just how does Trump think all the other Air Traffic Controls across the globe work? Does he think they're ONLY staffed by white men. Waiting for someone to ask him "Do you not think lower staffing levels as a result of recent firings within the FAA/civil service might have been a factor?"

We've all been there, I guess (well at least I have! 🤣) - we put a part to one side then can't remember what we did with it. Such is the case here (underside of engine). I may just have to use the one from the other kit (Eduardo 1/48 dual combo "The Sweeps") *sigh* 😐 #histscalemodels #scalemodels

Perhaps the name should be changed to TeSSla

I use Google Keep to keep track of what I've got ("completed" just means in the stash) and what's on my wish list. Looking for suggestions as to the best kits out there. Mainly 1/7 due to space. Besides, I'm not sure I could do them justice in 1/48! 😉😀

New addition to my stash. Not encountered this manufacturer before. So far the detail looks quite good. Will have to compare to drawings 🙂
Also waiting for the anticipated Trumpeter 1/48 Battle.
It may not have been a successful aircraft but there's just "something" about it I like!

In these troubled days, this sprang to mind, particularly the phrase "Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit. "

Horsehead and Flame nebulae from 2013. I really must start going through old data and see if I can produce better results

Cockpit of Eduard 1/48 Spitfire VB which will eventually be the Shamrock Spitfire ☘️
Haven't done much work for a while, though the cockpit is now in the fuselage, which needs final cementing. Fit of the wings is quite good. May need a little filler though 🙂 #modelling #aircraft #aviation

I see a few MAGAts are slithering over here. we need a "block account" option in the "three dot" menu to make it easier to block them without actually visiting their profile

My attempt at a timelapse of the partial solar eclipse of 21 Mar 2015 as seen in the UK. Unfortunately, my mount wasn't properly aligned so I had to keep re-targeting (hence the jumping) Any fellow #astrophotographers out there got suggestions on how I might align the frames? #astrophotography
