Because it's perfectly normal to have a shotgun loaded while "cleaning" it. I did hear "the dog ate my homework" a few times in high school. As kids we used to blame our dog for any flatulence smell too.

It is not the first time decision making has been seen. E Roy John was investigating decision making in animals in the 1970's using EEG. He researched this extensively.

Dune is generally considered a masterpiece of SciFi. It certainly is in my top 5 of all time. Read many times. Lifting and altering a bit here and there to produce 20 minutes of story surrounded by 140 minutes of CGI may work for some, but not for me. Happy you enjoyed it.

Entirely possible. I'm older than the internet and CGI. As flawed as David Lynch's movie was, even that was a more faithful rendition. Lots of one star reviews on IMDB. The more thoughtful reviews there mirror my own opinion fairly well. Happy you enjoyed it. Not worth of Oscars IMHO.

Maybe because it's a stinker. Take away the CGI and you've got an abysmally bad movie. Art house garbage. Maybe the director should have started by reading the actual book.

Meehl touches on your observation here. It has changed for the worse since the writing of this article 45 years ago. The "soft sciences" are often barely science at all.

There are many who donate quietly with no congrats, and little recognition or fanfare Margo. We do so because it's so obviously the right thing to do for anyone with a shred of moral/ethical understanding about the age-old human struggle against evil. Don't ever lose heart.

If 47's policies cause enough pain for enough people, we might see something very different. It's one thing to wish for the leopards to eat someone else's face. It's another thing when they start eating yours. There may well be far more unity down the road as people wake up to the class war reality
