Local governments have a role to play in implementing the Calls to Action.

One action is to write to your local city council using our updated letter template guide and ask them what actions they are currently taking to advance the TRC Calls to Action.

Following several invitations to candidates, we received commitments to take action on issues like non-market housing, climate action, heat protection, and washrooms from all parties except ABC.

It's important to know where candidates stand on issues impacting underrepresented communities.

Tag your candidates and ask if they’ll take action on our policy asks if elected to Vancouver City Council!

We need our leaders to work in meaningful partnership with the people closest to the real and pressing safety challenges in the Downtown Eastside and the low-barrier housing systems.

Supportive housing aims to help people. Removing one part, like low-barrier housing, weakens the whole structure.
February 24, 2025 at 6:44 PM
Mayor Ken Sim’s motion to ban supportive housing comes to council this Wed, Feb 26.

Part of a plan to overhaul the Downtown Eastside, it targets low-barrier housing and supports for people experiencing homelessness and people who use drugs or who face mental health challenges.
