Americans who have seen AI summaries in search results are lukewarm about their value. One-in-five say they find the information extremely or very useful, 52% say it’s somewhat useful, and 28% say it’s not too or not at all useful.

You can avoid getting AI results by putting a space after your word entry, then -ai. I try to use it habitually as I find AI annoying, and definitely don't want to contribute to this energy hog.

If you want to dress well this fall, imagine yourself as Big Jim Collie, a Scottish crofter in the 1970s who lived alone in a bothy and rode a rickety old bicycle through the Lairig Ghru, the highest mountain pass in the highest mountain range in Britain, while sustaining himself on a bit of dram.

Her voice was distinctive and unmistakable. She sang tones that guide you throughout both outer and inner space. One of my all time favorites

I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world.

Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO

Gift link to Kyle MacLachlan's essay on #DavidLynch in the NYT.

"It’s why he never wanted to explain his work. He wasn’t trying to be surly or obtuse....It’s just that explaining his art after the fact seemed antithetical to the very point of making it."
