This is the best explanation of Trump's economically illiterate tarrif 'plan' I've seen. It's not about economics, it's about power. Trump wants to force countries to seek deals that will put them in a subservient position to him by leveraging the economic power of the US.

I expected this kind of authoritarian behaviour from the Tories, but it's time now for the Labour gov to put a stop to it. Imprisoning 77 year olds for protesting the unfettered destruction of our ecosystems is inhumane and demeans our nation.

That said, if there is some atmospheric removal technology that turns out to be more cost effective than mitigation (or helps us deal with some hard to abate residual CH4) it would be worth exploring. Its just that we haven't really seriously mitigated CH4 emissions yet.
