It was SO obvious that journos had orders from above. Anchor after anchor kept telling guests who brought it up, “let’s not relitigate the referendum.” Like that phrase had suddenly been telepathically transmitted into their brains. And anyone who pointed this out was told they were a conspiracist.
"I was actually here in 2017 when the then Prince of Wales visited... the year after we'd had the Brexit referendum. We weren't really allowed to mention the B-word. "Don't talk about Brexit."

Remember how we were gaslighted at the time for pointing out that journalists were avoiding the issue? ~AA

"Asia imported 26.44 million barrels per day (bpd) of crude in the first quarter, down 640,000 bpd from the 27.08 million bpd for the same period in 2024, according to data compiled by LSEG Oil Research"

This is remarkable. Asia was supposed to lead oil demand growth.

This is the best explanation of Trump's economically illiterate tarrif 'plan' I've seen. It's not about economics, it's about power. Trump wants to force countries to seek deals that will put them in a subservient position to him by leveraging the economic power of the US.

This could be because surge in net migration to UK after 2016 meant Brexit was no longer seen by its supporters as the answer on immigration, the report suggested

I expected this kind of authoritarian behaviour from the Tories, but it's time now for the Labour gov to put a stop to it. Imprisoning 77 year olds for protesting the unfettered destruction of our ecosystems is inhumane and demeans our nation.

A common consequence of a right-wing duopoly system is hollowing out the state and setting up political enclaves run by corporations in the form of Special Economic Zones (SEZs), these zones represent attacks on the overall stability that a host country has in terms of 'big govt'.

I’d love to see this happen but I fear the toxic, corrupt Tories have set in place too many obstacles that the EU can’t accept!🥴
Freeports/special economic zones for example present a key problem. Until Labour show some backbone & tear these down we’re forever on the outside looking in!😔
It is common to see people on this platform saying that we cannot move to rejoin the EU because the government will be slain by the right wing press. Currently the Conservatives are struggling to find a new leader after the purge of the competents by Johnson. The Reform party will ... 1/2

How do independent emission inventories (colours) compare to country reported CH4 emissions (black)?

There are some striking differences (USA, BRA, RUS, COD, IND), but which estimates are correct?

This requires the use of observations for verification.

That said, if there is some atmospheric removal technology that turns out to be more cost effective than mitigation (or helps us deal with some hard to abate residual CH4) it would be worth exploring. Its just that we haven't really seriously mitigated CH4 emissions yet.
