some adaptation is probably just natural though. in-game isn't the same as private one-on-one writing, and it definitely isn't the same with long form out-of-game work either. there's a pragmatism to making things concise and clear. pacing matters! it's a lot more improv. it's a challenge.

perhaps some day ... still suffer from the disease of hating everything i write 0.5 seconds after putting down the proverbial pen
