ORAS has always been my least favorite pokemon remake soundtrack for this reason, and it's weird because the overworld/route music is generally fine so idk what happened with the battle music? i just do not like the direction taken for battle music and vastly prefer the LGPE/BDSP approach

most of the battle music feels like its been stripped down to generic orchestra and does not have the iconic instruments that were present in the originals. compare the rival theme in RSE to ORAS and its like... wtf even happened?? why would you make Hoenn music without strong french horns/trumpets
