100% agree. How does it make sense to think MG is ages 8-12? It’s literally in the name - middle grade= middle school.
Buying reading accessible books for HS now means finding mostly cartoonish covers with kids who look like they’re 7.

Individual, to help kids understand their reading needs/preferences (pace, comprehension, etc) and to choose better books so that indep reading is actually beneficial for them.
