Pastor Jamal Bryant did an incredible job leading the charge on this boycott, and the continued support for this has lead to an incredible loss in stock value and revenue. Amazon and Home Depot need to learn that discriminatory business practices will not be tolerated, red government or blue.

Took my coffee business elsewhere today. I've only ever bought Starbucks for seasonals (PSL mostly), because it otherwise tastes burnt.

Highly encourage everyone to use this strike time to search for local hole in the wall gems to enjoy instead. You might be pleasantly surprised.

Second addendum to bio: I'm so pleased to join independent Crash Barry's bio with my column, The Federal Correspondent. The first one is titled "The Constitutional Crisis Cabal, Part I." Check it out!

Addendum to bio - was accidentally deleted. I think this is what it said:

I retired a little early due to a rareish cancer and am appreciating life, my loving husband + two great adult children, friends and community. I enjoy kayaking, boxing and traveling. Does that sound like an ad for a date?

Since 2011, I’ve written a biweekly column for the Bangor Daily News (Maine). Since 2012, I’ve been a member of the Scholars Strategy Network, a national group that brings together scholars to address public challenges and their policy implications; I’m currently on their board. 5/5

Trump supercharged the right wing dynamic of promoting distrust in government and made himself the arbiter of truth on elections, covid, everything. And he and his allies have used (and will be using it) it as they work to dismantle parts of government Americans generally like. 4/5

Rather, distrust toward government has been a political resource for the right, as conservative leaders used it to build and maintain the Republican party and conservative political organizations, win elections, shift power toward institutions that they control, and secure policy victories. 3/5

What I’ve written that most explains Trumpism is a book co-authored with Doug Harris, “At War with Government: How Conservatives Weaponized Distrust from Goldwater to Trump.” We argue that distrust in government didn’t just happen in response to events. 2/5
