Chased the power into the new rack and the desk tonight, then re-did all the cabling for the interfaces and the summing mixer, re-did the patchbay, new kit means new labels. I’ll move the desk back into position tomorrow, then do all the comms and network, test everything and recalibrate the room.

New rack has arrived for the studio, guess who can’t find the cage nuts…
Upgrading the studio with a couple of new hardware units from Rupert Neve Designs, a Master Buss Processor and a Master Buss Transformer, which means a new rack for the monitor amps and the AMEK 9098, plus upgraded power and cabling. Step 1: take everything apart.

Mixed feelings about Caoimhin Kelleher leaving, he’s such a talented goalkeeper and clearly a fine human. It’s not his fault that his time at the club coincided with Allison Beckers, and he’s way too good not to play regularly. Go well, you’ll be great for Brentford, have an off day against us. #LFC

Got the studio back together and, as predicted, sorting the software took 3 times as long as installing the hardware… Modern production, right? The X16 is a great update, the DAs are stellar and the Sonarworks integration is seamless, custom EQ curves in the hardware...

Getting round to switching the new Apollo X16 in for the old A16, not normally pleased to see D-sub connectors, but they make this job simple, no need to break out the solder kit. I’ll spend more time sorting the software for the Sonarworks integration than physically installing the unit.
