In keeping with my tradition to buy locally-made perfume on my travels, today’s purchase was two bottles from the Thai Perfume Runway counter at MBK mall in #Bangkok. One called Siam Renaissance, one Siam Mango. Mid-range, on the sweeter side. Brand: KenGSoHigh www.kengsohigh.com Another fun memory!

One called Siam Renaissance, one Siam Mango. Mid-range, on the sweeter side. Brand: KenGSoHigh www.kengsohigh.com Another fun memory!

When I’m travelling I like to buy local perfume as a souvenir. If you’re in Vietnam 🇻🇳 I highly recommend checking out Morra. They have locations in Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi. I picked perfume #5 and personalized the label with the #Sagittarius symbol.

Today my dad took me on a tour of Hỏa Lò Prison (aka Hanoi Hilton), built by the French to jail political prisoners who sought Vietnamese independence, and later used to hold US POWs, including Senator John McCain for 5 1/2 years. I am grateful for the experience and opportunity for reflection.

I am in Hanoi on vacation with my dad and saw the monument to John McCain today. It sits alongside Trúc Bạch Lake where he landed after being shot down. Apparently they are going to renovate it next year to make it larger and set it in a bit. It was emotional, TBH.
