Please do not fold this easily when Adams and Mastro have six weeks left to ratfuck you
Mamdani sounds very skeptical his admin will be able to build senior housing in the Elizabeth St. Garden in light of the Adams admin's parkland designation: "The actions that the Adams administration has taken now make it nearly impossible to follow through with that."

Josh’s post is worth reading in its entirety. The points:

1) kill the filibuster
2) court reform
3) DC/PR statehood
4) clean up laws on presidential power
5) outlaw extreme gerrymandering

These strike me as a really good starting point of foundational necessities.

I still find it noteworthy that these stories came out right after the GOP tax cut passed, i.e. when Trump fully became a lame duck for the Wall Street rich guy set

This is going to get lost in the fray of his victory but it’s an appallingly antidemocratic position from someone who purports to support redistribution of political power
Mamdani is voting against on-cycle elections? Jesus Christ.

It’s official: I’m running for Congress to represent San Francisco!

I’ll fight for our city – against Trump’s takeover, for our values, & for real progress. I’ve delivered on housing, healthcare, clean energy, & civil rights – & I’ll do it again.

Let’s build the future our city & country deserve.

Excellent illustration of how existing housing can filter up to billionaires under a tight zoning and landmarking regime
Exclusive: A roughly 13,000-square-foot house, designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects, is asking $75 million. The townhouse was combined from two neighboring walkups in New York’s Greenwich Village.

This is utter nonsense. The status quo gives MAGA nimby councilmembers disproportionate power to block housing that benefits the entire city.

I trust Zohran with the power to approve housing far more than Vickie Paladino. Vote YES on the pro-housing ballot initiatives
Ballot proposals 2, 3 and 4 take power away from everyday New Yorkers, giving it to unelected mayoral appointees and developers. Don’t be misled to give away your community’s power. Learn more at whatsonmyballot.nyc

I strongly think SCOTUS should become a rotating body of circuit court judges. It'll make it that much harder to corrupt
All we have to do is kill the filibuster and create a 15 member SCOTUS for President Khan.

Those should be the bare minimum priorities for Day One.

While he’s in the news, Bad Bunny—his politics lean towards a Puerto Rican nationalism that verges on advocating for independence from the US, whereas I think the US and Puerto Rico would both benefit more from full statehood; Dems may need (but wouldn’t be guaranteed) their votes in the Senate
Here’s a question: who is the artist with politics you disagree strongly with, whose politics *do* (in your view) influence their art, that you still think is talented and whose work you enjoy?
