Believe it or not, all three of these fish are the same species… the bluehead wrasse. Wrasses are protogynous hermaphrodites, meaning they transition from female to male over the course of their lives. Each phase can look radically different from each other as evidenced here #coralcitycamera

“Vampire Squid” (Vampyroteuthis infernalis) Not a true squid, in its own order. Closer to octopods. Cool deep sea cephalopod of darkness, mwah ha ha.

#RWArtMonth 2025 Day 31: Leviathan - For the final piece of this year's art month, I wanted to end with this particular Leviathan. A moment from Saint's campaign that really highlights the path they are treading.

A huge serpent like leviathan creature with tendrils that allow it to swim, from the game Rain World, is swimming across the surface of the liquid. It has large mechanical jaws, currently retracted into a fleshy maw that is bursting up from the surface of the sea. A slugcat, called the saint, levitates above the leviathan in a meditative pose. They are holding out their arms, directing a floating glowing symbol towards the leviathan. The symbol is a circle with an X in it.
