I absolutely loved the way the Clippers built their team this summer. Was almost the opposite of what the Sixers did. They even managed their star’s health the opposite way of the Sixers.

Fucking President is dismantling the DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, and everyone is too busy watching March Madness to pay attention. We truly live in the dumbest country.

Here’s the real issue - it’s not just that they “can’t be bothered”. Most working Americans do not even have time to be bothered. BOTH parents are working, full time, sometimes 2 jobs, just to keep life moving. And that’s how the upper class wants it.
need you to constantly remind yourself that the average normal person has no idea that any of the stuff we are rightly getting upset about is going on. they dont know. and we need to do everything we individually can to make them know.

Had a company Town Hall today which ended with a 30 minute conversation explaining why the company is an ardent believer and supporter of DEI, which should be common sense but unfortunately is not due to the current climate.

What these teams (TOR, UTAH, etc) are doing is so so so much worse than anything Sam Hinkie ever did. Blatantly tanking games by sitting healthy players is way worse for the integrity of the league than fielding a bad roster that plays hard and loses.

I will listen to a lot of (valid) criticism of Daryl Morey, but I will not do it with the Embiid extension. Unless you have info that his knee is completely toast, you pay your franchise player. The end. It’s not even a decision. That’s how it works.

Eagles Pro-Bowl center Cam Jurgens underwent a back procedure Tuesday in Los Angeles with Dr. Robert Watkins to alleviate nerve pain, per sources. Doctors believe a full recovery is expected by July, in time for training camp. Jurgens is headed into the final season of his rookie contract.

This is going to sound harsh, but I’m looking at drafting another potential center and not extending until I’m sure that back is holding up.
Lonnie Walker IV has agreed to a two-year, $3 million deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, his agent George S. Langberg of GSL Sports Group told ESPN. Walker has played for Zalgiris Kaunas in the Euroleague and had an NBA-out in his deal. He now enters his 7th NBA season.
The dark truth everyone's circling around is that it doesn't seem like the People care very much about democracy or the Constitution or the rule of law and it's extremely hard to see how anything good happens as long as that's true
Has it occured to them that one reason voters aren’t biting on the idea that liberal democracy is facing an existential threat is that they find it inconceivable the opposition party would be nattering about fucking egg prices if they really believed that were true?

This is Severance for me, at the moment. Every week people rave about it like it’s ground breaking TV, and I wonder if I’m watching the same show, or have just become too dumb to get such profound TV.
White Lotus seems like the worst show everyone likes.

i'm whatever on the format but the nba overreacting to the all-star game being perceived as a huge problem by having like 30 minutes of basketball over three hours is the most nba thing imaginable

IMO the best thing they could do with All-Star weekend is just remove all the nonsense. No more performances, no more between-event interviews, no more Kevin Hart, no more intros that take 20 minutes. Let the shooters shoot, let the dunkers dunk, and then play a basketball game.

That’s all well and good but the games’ actual STARS have not been treating Sunday as if it is “sacred” for years, which is how we got here. The young guys came in, played hard, and acted like they wanted to be there at least.
Including the Rising Stars is bad. Draymond was loudest about it, and annoying as always, but Tatum and Steph clearly didn't care for it either. Playing on Sunday is "sacred," per Steph, and I see why it's disrespectful to share that floor with non-All Stars. League bungled that bad. Easy fix though

I’m a straight white male with, by any reasonable standard, talent. I’ve never - not once - been blocked from something I thought I earned by anything other than mediocre-at-best straight white males. The notion that “we” are somehow oppressed is in equal parts infuriating, infantilizing & offensive
The Trump administration has just announced that all college financial aid programs, scholarships, prizes, housing, and graduation ceremonies that help Black or Latino students are now considered to be illegal. The Education Department accuses colleges of discriminating against white students.

Ok, a season and a half in now, I feel comfortable saying this - Severance is a show pretending to be good simply by not giving you anything. It sucks.

No idea how Embiid ends up on Gary Trent on consecutive possessions but his complete refusal to defend on the perimeter meant that went as you would expect.
