Cambridge City Council and South Cambridgeshire District Council are working together to create the first joint Local Plan for Greater Cambridge. We are getting in touch to let you know that public consultation on the draft Local Plan is now open. It runs until 5pm on Friday 30 January 2026. The Local Plan sets out how the area should develop up to 2045 and beyond, including where sites for new homes, jobs and infrastructure will go and what these places should be like.

We have received the following update from Highways, regarding the B1050 roadworks:- "We would like to provide an update on the overnight works that have been taking place on Shelford Road, Willingham. During the early stages of these works, the contractor identified significant damage to the underlying road substrate. As a result, the planned works have been unable to progress as scheduled.

We have been advised that the closure has been changed to nighttime only. Closure will be for up to four nights (starting the 10th November) 8pm to 6pm. We have been given notice of an emergency road closure due to take place from the 10th November for 3 days and 3 nights. This will be a closure in place and diversion whilst patching works are carried out along Shelford Road past the canal. Highways have apologised for the inconvenience but wish to make these repairs as soon as possible.

We have received several complaints about dog fouling in the village, particularly on Church Street and Long Lane. Please be considerate when walking your dogs and remember it is illegal for a dog owner to not clean up after their dog in public areas.
