Couldn't help but laugh realizing how much I sounded like my mama & how not 15 minutes later, my bestfriend hmu saying he 'round the corner, barely working today 😂

Don't confuse momentum with alignment.
Maybe it’s the Aries Rising that won’t give up or maybe it’s Maybelline, but I’m glad for my choices & glad I’m still trying. I’ve wanted to quit a lot but Spirit’s insisted on slowing down & refocusing. Revisioning, even. Resting & meditating on what I want the cards to hold for me. Dreaming again.

I finished my third year as an English professor. I recorded & put out my first song feature. I acted & sang in my first theater play after my first audition in 15 years. I found a muse & picked up a pencil to draw again. I dated & had a good run after being single for 8 years. I’m proud of me.

My wins have felt much smaller & more private but I’m glad for them & the things I’ve accomplished in spite of circumstances, burnout & worse. Albeit a lil more stressed & single again, I’m proud of myself for trying.

It’s the little ways you come back to yourself after chaotic moments that make you really savor your life & ability to heal. The mundanity of restarting your skin routine, the shift to citrus & peppermint tea that reminds of your childhood winters, the names omitted your mouth says again with ease.
