@mikegallagher.bsky.social my hypothesis is that there are lots of NHS colleagues who are really motivated to help with NHS App adoption. If we can give them the right support and tools then the 500 (or more) people might already be there as an untapped community.

Don't underestimate the frustration of the retail space planner who has spent a long time designing a shelf layout based on sales data and consumer psychology, who then turns up at a store to find the display merchandised completely unlike the plan that was sent to the store!

I see that as part of our job. We are all ambassadors. Maybe it should be like retail, where I understand everyone with an office job has to spend some time on the shop floor to truly understand their customers.

3. Signposting is important. Being clear with a team when you are in the role of lead designer and when you are in the role of a designer who has a pretty good idea how to deliver a new feature will help the team to digest your input.

Three thoughts:
1. Your experience and vantage point puts you in an excellent position to tell a team how to achieve a certain outcome or deliver a specific goal.
2. If you don't share your insights and expertise on the principle of being a servant leader then I think that's actually unhelpful.

You would see even more at secondary school drop-off or pickup time near me.
I asked a teacher about why they all have the same haircut. Her explanation was that the last thing you want as a teenager is to be different, so they all conform.

I remember having that experience - I don't think the mums intended anything negative but it did feel awkward

I remember the day that I did go to Auschwitz - the memories will remain with me forever. And I recommend that everyone who is able to visit does so. I also remember the cemetery, and (on a lighter note) the amazing ice-cream parlour in Krakow town square.
