I think a response that should Trump proceed with his threat that the BBC would aggressively defend themselves, by going on the attack if necessary, seems a good starting point. I'm sure a non-redacted copy of the Epstein files could be easy to obtain and the truth laid bare for all to see...

The response should be two-fold. The BBC should tell Trump to bring it on and the Labour Govt should block Comcast taking over ITV.

I think it should be the start of a purge at the top of the organisation. But I gave little confidence that any new appointments will be any better (or any greater impartiality) than those that have gone/will go. There are too many right-wing voices pushing right-wing ideology...

I agree with you. I did wonder whether an early election was possible, so it's good to learn it could be. But if the duopoly conspired to do it, then I think voters would punish them, because under FPTP it's easier to vote tactically than under a form of PR.

I guess he was arguing for 6.6% extra corporation tax. Even if we settled at 30% then that would generate more revenue that Reeves is likely to get from increasing income tax and introducing measures to counteract the effects for the poorest. Plus the corporations are profiteering...
