I have heard some keep these cut outs in a lab notebook, along with a record of each decision. I cut and paste at the end of documents or into comments, but this sometimes loses context. Still, it helps with letting go.

I think the advice to read your work out loud is helpful generally.

Also, I read this book a few years ago and loved it, it’s probably one of the more useful and enjoyable books about writing I’ve read.

I love em dashes—they frequently help me provide context, alternatives, or emphasis. Likely, large language models use em dashes because of their popularity in training corps. Nonetheless, they are often over used, and LLMs may not know how people truly feel about their training corps….

I think it could be time for this to happen. As someone trying to get post doc funding for DEI research right now, this scares me a lot. But, the federal grant system depends on untold volunteer hours. Also, the CDC journals banning “woke”—do not review for them!
