It’s more that I wish more educators like this writer would distinguish between the companies that grab the headlines and the literacy work that we do. I am neither pro nor anti-AI, I certainly don’t condemn it; I see its value in the work that I do as an educator and I want others to as well.

As someone who helped found an applied AI program and is an administrator on our uni’s AI research lab, I wish more humanities teachers would recognize that we are the ones best equipped to run and teach in these programs.

Yes 💯, especially your points about adding extra steps/work that is separate from the primary content and learning goals. Just b/c I’m trying to navigate Q’s about “ai literacy,” I don’t think anyone knows what this is yet, not enough to generalize at least, but I do see room to embrace the search!

My concern with this is its slapdash content and 🤷 tone. Even for people who just want “best practices,” there’s nothing here they couldn’t google or find on youtube? Where are the experts? Who consulted on this?
