Legal personhood for rivers counters the corporate trick of making companies ‘people’ to dodge liability. But Robert Macfarlane’s idea of rivers as alive risks reducing nature to human terms—colonising it with a literal equivalence to the human body. Our metaphorical links are much richer than that

Kinder Surprise- You must know that no kid wants the pre-made toy, that’s just a no choice toy. What was special was the unmade toy you had to build yourself, which was like seeing bts of the secret world of toy design/assembly.

Kemi Badenoch’s opinion on Stockport murders... She blamed it on a lack of integration. The lack of a rational link is wild, apart from a lack of integration between Mental Health support and Prevent. She also said if we start talking about evidence for her opinion, we are lost. The reverse is true

Here’s a thing- we don’t call this the ‘20’s because we still think of that as the 1920’s. That must have also been the case in the 1920’s, they would have thought of that as the 1820’s. Until maybe the 1950’s when enough time had passed and births and deaths had happened. and the 1720’s, and 1620’s

Next stage of Thrum XI in process of simplifying, rebuilding from scratch and making it portable. Lots of problem solving which is the best. There is a mad noise that has emerged, like two ball bearing colliding. All good.

So, farewell John Prescott. A man described by the late Jeremy Hardy as the man hired by Tony Blair to shaft the working classes in their own accent. Punched a egg throwing man who many thought deserved it, ran a massive department and played an important part in the Kyoto Climate Change agreement.
