Servette FC are having a mini crisis. Since winning 0-1 at Plzen they have lost 3-1 at YB in the league, 1-3 at home to Plzen and yesterday 1-4 at home to St Gallen in the league. Next up is FC Utrecht on Thursday for a europa league qualifier.

Really gutting to see Servette FC lose 1-3 at home to Viktoria Plzen last night and 2-3 on aggregate with 3 really soft goals conceded.

I'm mesmerised by the narrative in The Rooster by Sibel Roller as she uncovers her late father's hidden past.

Now with the Women's Euro tournament over, I'm going to watch Servette FC this week in a champions league qualifier against Viktoria Plzen of Czechia. Football never stops!

We found an indie bookshop in Marseille, near where we stayed, and I decided I wanted to buy a book from them. Ended up with my first foray into French poetry - Poemes Karaoke by Stéphanie Garzanti. I was won over by the dog on the cover ...

At Mucem in Marseille is an exhibition curated by Hervé di Rosa, which includes some works about mines, showing above and below ground. Unfortunately, I didn't note the artist.

I got my copy of Transformations last week in Marseille, delivered by my father in law :) My son has enjoyed having Beth's poems read to him.
You can get this via the @hedgehogpress.co.uk site, from Amazon. I have about 10 copies left. It contains 2 Pushcart nominated poems and was nominated by Hedgehog for the PEN Heaney prize. The poems are all inspired by the work of Elisabeth Frink.

I've started reading a poem each day to our dog. I have no idea if she appreciates them, just as i have no idea of what she can smell and what it tells her about her world. They're all so far from Dog Songs by Mary Oliver.

There's some guerrilla gardening going on in our neighbourhood. The sign on this plant says it would be shameful to steal this plant. I tried something similar a few years ago and all the plants I installed (at a different site) got stolen.

The Geneva Lux light festival finished last night. This year, instead of spreading around the city, installations were mostly by the lake and the rade. I loved these rainbow light beams

This morning, I had the opportunity to taste sponge cake with champagne in the icing. It was amazing. Then I woke up. Damn.

One of my grandmothers used to say that if there's enough blue sky to make a sailor's trousers, the weather is improving. This morning, there was enough.

This morning's chilliness gave a glistening power to the rain so that even with a waterproof coat on, it got underneath my skin. After drying the dog, making and drinking a coffee, I still have that unshakeable sense of being tinged with cold

I had a really nice chat with a colleague this afternoon. It took #brewmonday for us to do it do thanks @samaritans.bsky.social for the impetus!
Today is #BrewMonday, the antithesis of #BlueMonday. Check in with your colleagues and connections, make time if you can to talk. Later, we are going to have a tea break with our @quakersocialaction.bsky.social Down to Earth colleagues but we will do it remotely, like most of our meetings.

Ugh, I injured (bruised) my ribs on Sunday and might be aggravating the situation each time I walk the dog, and she pulls, as well as when I need to carry her. I can't run in this condition, either. It's a stark reminder of how life can be fine and yet one small thing can derail us.
