a very good day to be 37 years old
I cannot emphasize enough, as a rapidly aging millennial, how unthinkable it would have been in 2004 for a Muslim immigrant to be elected Mayor of NYC on the day Dick Cheney's heart finally threw in the towel. We had NO alternatives in 2004, and in many ways, it was a scarier time than even now.

a very good day to be 37 years old
one year ago right now, i was a shaking, anxious mess, clutching the rail at a drive-by truckers show. it was all i could do to stay upright.
now, i’m watching spanberger’s acceptance speech, seeing other results roll in… and feeling a bit of hope for the first time in a decade. my god. finally.

foo pit for cleveland secured. likely doing detroit and toronto, possibly chicago (and maybe philly?) too. it’s been years since it felt like this. i needed it. i miss them, i miss how they make me feel, i miss who i am when i’m on rail at a foo fighters show.

after a period of ~figuring it out~ that included a lot of closet purges, i’ve fallen into a place where i feel really comfy with my style and excited about putting outfits together. i ordered some clothing that just arrived and there’s several skirts! i was very anti-skirt for a few years there.
