I did comment to my family last week that this is what Rome must have felt like under Nero.

*one* who wasn't already got off his ass. There seem to be a bunch more who haven't felt the urgency yet.

If it makes you feel better, I got laid off from my job a week and a half before a scheduled work trip and still ended up with a twinge of anxiety about missing the flight for the job I no longer had.

What if those fools had added in someone with less integrity and understanding of how damaging this information could be?

I can not get past the horror of that. The editor is a good man and true patriot, and they're villifying him to cover their own asses.

The artist defined the lips and chin more - so you could actually see them!

Our extra chubby bulldog, Ham Solo, got too excited playing with my husband and, for the first time ever, launched himself into my husband's lap on the couch, to their mutual surprise. I haven't belly laughed that hard in weeks. My only regret is I didn't get it on video. 🤣😂🤣😂

6) and the vinegar in the wound is that I can't expect the worker's comp to be handled in a timely manner, because the company laid off their only dedicated person doing that job on Jan 27th - me. I was laid off, allegedly due to budget cuts, and replaced with a 6-person committee; so efficient. 🤔😭

5) I bought some medical insurance - and it's garbage. And I paid extra for what I thought was a prescription plan - it's a "rx discount plan". The cheapest I can get my antidepressants is $550 a month. Which we obviously don't have. So my anxiety & depression will get worse, which won't help.

3) We're still waiting on someone from worker's comp to contact him. He did finally get some snail mail from them - it was delivered a street over.
4) My unemployment is delayed for ? reasons? There's no money coming in, and while I have a small emergency fund started, it won't even last a month.

The descriptions of a couple of those books that I have read don't align at all with how I remember them. I imagine it's a little surreal as an author - to see how someone else describes your book, especially if they seem to have either skimmed it or read it with a decidedly odd take.

Given this administration's take on immigration, I've been expecting them to take down Lady Liberty and put up a Golden (well, orange) Idol since day 1.

My favorite is over easy or poached over a biscuit. But any way works, as long as it's not overcooked.

Discworld is my all-time, hands down favorite series. I'm constantly reading one in the background to maintain my mental health. The Color of Magic is not the best place to start but it is a good foundation. Please see attached photo to track story arcs. There are 42 books in the main series.

If you want a punch, mantis shrimp. But as has been mentioned, giant isopod is the best answer.
