It’s always “offer criticism like an adult” but never “grown adults are using threats as an excuse to avoid responding to valid criticism”
Obviously death threats are bad, Anne. Yet, it's insulting when creators ignore any criticism you have because someone else yelled louder something horrible.

A rehash of an idea I had a few years ago. Basically I imagined a much *much* more Celtic High Middle Ages. A victorious knight takes his defeated foe's masked helmet and mounts it on a wall, a ritualized echo of Gallic head hunting.

I always thought medieval public executions were barbaric but I am starting to understand, after certain world events, how much of a phenominal emotional release a society might have to witness certain particularly terrible people hung, drawn and quartered, then their head stuck on display.

I cannot say enough how right Alan Moore is when he said to read bad books, because it will make you think, "if they're seriously publishing this shit, then I'm probably great and shouldn't doubt myself"
It is good to read this stuff, because it a) reminds you that you're a good writer and b) improves your writing because you're thinking about how it could be better
