It seems that Democrats are too fixated on WHO will lead their 2028 ticket. They should focus on listening to WHAT people want from government and developing proposals to deliver. They need more direct engagement on a human level, and less spin-doctoring from the political industrial complex.

In my early days as a journalist, I recognized that many elected officials really don't understand how government, particularly public finance, works. These days, this has become more apparent, especially at the federal level.

Instead of focusing on popularity polls, the media should be telling more stories about who's being hurt by Trump policies and who's gaining from them. As a former journalist, I want to see more emphasis on facts and less focus on opinions.

Those who see the privilege that they'd always enjoyed eroding are crying out that they are being subjected to discrimination.

"Whose side are you on?"

I am on the side of Compassion and Empathy. I am on the side of Humanity. I am on the side of Love.

We all are One. No one is Lesser. No one is Greater. "Love thy Neighbor" excludes no one.

Instead of showing off military might, it could be a parade of clown cars, featuring Felonious Grump and all of his sycophants and boot lickers.

It would showcase the circus sideshow that our federal government has become.

Beyond this weekend's protests, Americans need to turn up and sustain the heat on every single, cowardly Republican member of Congress and others who facilitate the GOP cruelty.

Media needs to focus on documenting and highlighting the real suffering caused by these actions.

Yes, this administration is dangerous and cruel, but they are also shockingly dim and incompetent.

Opportunities are everywhere.

Make everything as hard as possible. Resist every demand. Refuse entry without a warrant. Don’t take the buyout. Their problem solving skills are 📉

I am grateful for the gift of sight, particularly after nearly losing mine to cataracts 5 years ago. I make regular gifts to the Cure Blindness Project to ensure that others have access to the sight-saving surgery that enables me to see.
