If you haven't watched AT LEAST two youtube videos about how to make bricks... you might be in the wrong place.
Godel is my favorite mathematician. He was brilliant. But maybe there doesn't need to be a logistical inconstancy in the US Constitution that allows the republic to legally turn to fascism. Maybe it can just be people saying "Fuck it. Let's do fascism."

The arrogance of the ruling class really is amazing. Nothing he says is wrong. I agree with him. BUT if I was a person whose whole life has been shaped/blessed because who my daddy was... I hope I'd have enough awareness not to throw stones about qualifications?

Went to Dave and Busters for the first time and had a great time. It's just been sat there above the parking garage downtown all these years. Like finding a slightly sweaty and even more slightly sticky Narnia. #gaming

If you're anything like me, you used to get Panera Bread way more than you wanted to. Then, you had a life change and now you don't get Panera Bread at all.

My dog and I have made anxiety into a sport. I have complex reasoning and an awareness of the climate crisis but he relies on me to for his bodily functions and can hear the UPS truck coming way before me. Every day is the Olympics. #dogs #pets #anxiety

Akwaeke Emezi is one of the best writers doing the thing right now. Full stop. Read their books! Pet is THE perfect book to listen to on a long drive!
When you just want to see all your Black authored YA fantasy books in all their glory! If only these had existed when I was a teen in the nineties…

This winter in New Orleans it snowed. 8 inches and it shattered all the records. My rescued street dog has never lived outside Louisiana. He hated it. #dogs

You gotta feel bad for kids that have to learn about politics in the age of Trump. It's like having to learn about mycology while watching The Last of Us.

Medieval travel books give you intense details on how to get from one impossibly far city to another. "You'll see this village and this church etc". They mention trees that are still in Syria. Then it's like "oh yeah a river that cures baldness and makes your wishes come true". What gives? #booksky

"Where are the bones?"

A bunch of Renaissance builders looking guilty. Sideways glances at the canal: "Which bones was that?"
My Marco Polo trivia is that his tomb in the Venetian church of San Lorenzo was lost when the church was rebuilt in the late 1500’s. How do you lose an entire tomb?

Just finding out that Marco Polo left home and traveled for 24 YEARS!?!!?! And then he just showed back up at his house. I sort of thought it was more a semester abroad sort of deal? #booksky

Heads up....

Two more members of the Public Defender Oversight Board - Chairman Gerard Caswell and Ernestine Gray (retired judges) - resigned.

So 5 of 9 board members have resigned in the last three weeks.

I'm on vacation but here's some background info:

Western print culture began in the 1400s when Guttenberg printed his Bible. Under 200 were made and only 21 still exist. Western print culture peaked in 1988 when the first Uncle John's Bathroom Reader was printed. Books meant to be read while taking a shit. 12 million have been sold. #booksky

Just walked by a cafe with an A-frame sign out front that read “Come In For Some Sumer Fun” and I was like oh man, I bet everyone in there is having a good time writing Gilgamesh fanfic or building ziggurats or talking shit about Ea-nāṣir.

Well, call me ignorant.

Have never read Moby Dick and decided, for reasons, that this summer I would. Became instantly obsessed with "Etymology" and "Extracts," the actual first line about the pale usher and of course the sub-sub librarian. And have starting reading some scholarship on same.
