This is what I was thinking of. Not explicit but I don’t know what else a “functional equivalent” would be other than airports and seaports, etc.

Except at the border and its functional equivalents, patrolling officers may stop vehicles only if they are aware of specific articulable facts, together with rational inferences therefrom, reasonably warranting suspicion that the vehicles contain aliens who may be illegally in the country. Frontier by @blackysan.bsky.social is fantastic. Equally beautiful and disconcerting. Couldn’t stop myself from being mesmerized by the artwork, and the characters and world had so much depth. I would go back and read it again for the first time if I could!

Not just the headline either. These paragraphs are literally back to back describing clear sexual harassment as “unusual amount of attention” and pursuing women.

This has been my main experience when asked to use generative algorithms in class. Everything gen “AI” purports to do well requires good and many prompts that take time that could have been used actually researching and writing.
“The reality is that A.I. models can often prepare a decent first draft. But I find that when I use A.I., I have to spend almost as much time correcting and revising its output as it would have taken me to do the work myself.”
