I know everyone is high the hopium from last night, so sorry to be a downer, but all it tells me is that the admin will need shorten their timeline. I thought we might have until 2028 to see the inevitable place the fascism takes us, now I think we have until maybe next November.
So back in 2004 when I visited Rome I went to the Sistine Chapel. I had a visceral negative reaction pretty much as soon as I entered. All I could say (rather loudly) was “imagine if they tore all this down and sold it, they could literally end hunger in the world”. Ridiculous displays of opulence.

My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard.
We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.

The thing to understand about fascism is that most people you know will be bought off. Bought with promises of peace and stability, bought with business opportunities or paid with actual cash. Most people aren't going to resist. Get used to it and get used to operating in that environment.

So, putting it nicely, 1/3 of the recruits were in too bad of shape, and the 1/2 of those left were illiterate. Doesn’t seem like they’re getting the best and the brightest.
