Morning Barney, would be keen to hear your thoughts on this after your recent article?

Bit awkward that, isn't it.

Just had a friend to stay and we drank some very good, predominantly German, beer. Bonus Dark Element IPA that he opened thinking it was a lager 😂 #bskybeer

And now in Kilder which is a) lovely and b) air conditioned. Glass of Polly's cherry sour. Not their best work but serviceable in this heat. #bskybeer

Couple of half pints in the Craven Arms next; Oakham's Krush and Mallinson's Simcoe. Great boozer, could have stayed all day but more exploring to be done. #bskybeer

In Birmingham for a solo beer day and a gig tonight after an early start in London. First stop Cherry Reds cafe and Yonder's Coco Mango Loco. Great brunch beer. Cheers! #bskybeer

If you check the Eurostar network map on the info screens at St. Pancras it still shows Waterloo as the departure point. The Eurostar terminal at Waterloo closed in 2007!

#14 Minority Rule by Ash Sarkar. Insightful and depressing in fairly equal measure.

#13 Life Hacks for a Little Alien by Alice Franklin. Enjoyed this, a page turner that also sheds a different light on autism. Good stuff.

Went to see Jimmy Eat World last night and it was absolutely brilliant, had forgotten how much I loved them. Very wholesome evening.

#12 Greek Lessons by Han Kang. Bit of a slow burn that ramped up towards the end. Probably lots going on over my head tbh.

Think this is part of Beak's core range(?), hadn't had it before but if that's the case it's got to be the best core range beer in the UK

#11 I Who Have Never Known Men by Jacqueline Harpman. Translated from the French, republished a couple of years ago due to Tiktok (Booktok?) popularity. Astonishingly bleak.

#10 Among the Ultras by James Montague [Kindle], I do an enjoy an occasional sports-related book being a massive lad and all. Some interesting nuggets in here but also some pretty questionable research methods at times. Interesting read.

On a more positive note, I heartily endorse the new Heart Attack Man record

#9 is Edisto by Padgett Powell. Picked up on a whim in the library. Not really my thing stylistically but pretty evocative of place if not time.

In Ireland. This is one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten.

#8 From Ashes to Admin by Evie King (Kindle). This had been on my to-read list for ages. I should have read it sooner because it's absolutely brilliant, should be required reading for... everyone? A book about life, death, and council funeral services. Do read it.
