Cuomo needs to give up the act and put an R next to his name
Andrew Cuomo pleaded with Republicans on Friday to abandon Curtis Sliwa, their nominee for mayor of New York City, and said it would be nearly impossible to win if he did not drop out. Sliwa said he was not going anywhere.

The morning after the first mayoral debate of the general election, Andrew M. Cuomo said it would be nearly impossible to win if Curtis Sliwa did not drop out. Mr. Sliwa said he was not going anywhere.

THIS! RCV would allow for less infighting and more coalition building, so that there is less animosity.
The tone of this primary was completely different than it would have been without Ranked Choice voting.

We cannot go back to First Past the Post for the 2028 Democratic presidential primary. We need a system that not only allows for, but encourages collaboration.
Ranked choice voting results are in for the NYC mayor primary.

Zohran Mamdani gets past the 50% threshold after just the 3rd round and gets to 56% over Cuomo's 44%.

It always sounds like fear-mongering until it actually happens. Trump is completely fucking over our country, and it’s gonna taken years to undo the damage he and other Republicans are going to do to our economy.
Very striking how every right-wing conspiracy freakout was just a prophecy of what they planned on eventually doing - whether it was Jade Helm or FEMA camps, the moment they had the opportunity to make these imaginary monstrosities they came up with come to life, they did

Pete Buttigieg's return to Iowa was obviously, first and foremost, about Pete Buttigieg. But it also spotlighted a party at an interesting, opportunity-filled crossroads.

Buttigieg Returns to Iowa—With Beard and Baggage
He’s no longer the mayor from out of nowhere. He’s an ex-cabinet official now. But with that resume comes some burdens.

Pete Buttigieg suggested he would “assess” a 2028 presidential run.

While visiting Iowa, he said in a live interview that he'd consider “what I bring to the table.”

Buttigieg: I’m not even an elected official or running for anything— I’m here. I can’t help but notice a lot of people who are elected officials aren’t. There’s a reason for that. They don’t want to have to explain this stuff

Need Pete to run in 2028. He is what actually brings me a modicum of hope for the future. #TeamPete

It’s the Canadian elections tomorrow!

And no election night is wasted with me, so I’m looking forward to following. (And hope you’ll follow along.) Some polls out east will close starting at 6:30pm ET (8:30 local time), but bulk of poll closures will be much later, after 930pm ET.

The head of our country’s government is in the early stages of consolidating total power. We must of course reject this, but that is not enough. We have to respond by creating a different and better kind of American politics than we have seen before.

Same here. I understand the reasoning behind it, and I wouldn’t mind it normally from Democrats. However, we have to resist the need to keep Republicans from their worst impulses. Let Americans feel what they voted for.
The thing that pisses me off the most about Schumer is that I totally understand his position on this vote. It makes sense & I might support it in normal times.
