Mastermind Australia Season Two Semi-Finalist.
They really abridged The Phillipines saga, didn’t they?

Notable absences:
“Excuse me, can we have breakfast please?”
“Tell Lil I love her.”

Foo Fighters are a really good example of a band that should have broken up a long time ago and then made an Oasis-like comeback over a decade later. First few albums a solid pop-rock but everything after about 2005, it's like, "Who cares?" Hugely diminishing returns.

Lovely article. Very excited for the new Pulp album.
Well worth a read: Pulp interviewed by Miranda Sawyer with portraits by Suki Dhanda.

The holiday house we’re staying at happens to have a copy of Paul McCartney’s 1993 album, Off The Ground, which I’ve never heard before. And actually, let me shock you: it’s pretty good.

Bob Dylan is clearly underdressed for the weather on the cover of The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan. That light jacket is no good in the snow, no wonder he looks so cold. Suze Rotolo's long green coat is much more practical.

A postscript with a postcard: Paul found time to make it to the mailbox, sending this to Ringo, with a Jan 31 postmark. With the postal strike going on (see the front pages), who knows how long it took to reach its destination. But it's the thought that counted📬

REALLY.

Seeing these two together makes me tear up every single time.
This happened tonight! Who knew that 2024 would end with a live performance of songs from Sgt Pepper and the White Album by Paul and Ringo

Happy 30th anniversary to “Whatever” by Oasis.

This was the band’s first non-album single release and it reached number 3 in the Christmas ‘94 chart. Everett True of the Melody Maker thought it was the best single of 1994 no less!

But…what’s its best b-side?

What do you mean Ringo Starr’s 1999 album festive album I Wanna Be Santa Claus (as featured on @eggpod.bsky.social) isn’t on streaming. Very disappointed Fab-loving 5y.o. in our house 😭
