@wfselocal889.bsky.social
We are Washington state DCYF, DDA, and DVR employees in King County, fighting for a #WashingtonForAll by issuing updates, calls to action, and LOTR memes.

Public workers never quit, even when the government quits on us. WFSE Local 889 is holding a food drive to support our local food banks through NW Harvest. Please consider bringing a donation into your local King County area DCYF or DDCS office, or donating monetarily through our treasurer Michele.

Support staff keep WA running and it’s time to fight for them. Governor Ferguson can order OFM to honor the raises we negotiated. Call 360-902-4111 to tell Ferguson to make OFM do the right thing.

There’s still time to call the Governor and tell him to honor negotiated raises for secretaries in state government! Support staff keep Washington running, and this is the first targeted increase they’ve received in over a decade. Text SECRETARY to 237263 to get all the info and take action!

Have you called Governor Ferguson today?
His Office of Financial Management is denying those in the secretary job classes their negotiated pay raises. Call 360-902-4111 to tell Ferguson to make OFM do the right thing, or send a letter actionnetwork.org/letters/gov-...

This #WaLeg budget involved harmful cuts to be sure, but we were fortunate to weed out many of the worst of them. @governorferguson.bsky.social's resistance to revenue reform is the reason for all of them and all our focus now must be on pressuring him to sign this compromise into law. 360-902-4111!

"Today, I clocked in at 6:30 to personally drive a child to school so that her education wouldn't be disrupted by having recently moved. Still made it to the courthouse by 8:30 for an important hearing."

We were trying to think of what it would take for @wadems.org to repair their relationships with working people, especially with state employees. We thought of a few starting points...

“Today, I helped Wayne [name edited] tie his own shoes for the first time ever!”

Can an empty campus do that?

Will adults with developmental disabilities learn to tie their shoes on the streets? Or warehoused in ERs?

Tell your reps to vote no on SB 5393!

The @wadems.org are running a familiar playbook of trying to pinch pennies by shutting down critical programs to balance the budget and preserve an absolutely insufficient and regressive tax system. More awful consequences are sure to follow.

"Today, I worked with a foster parent and a youth to deescalate a potential crisis so he could stay there with his 3 siblings. I also redacted hundreds of pages of case file for the caregiver to review so the kids can be adopted."
